I like this driving technic!
Ages ago one old racing star told me "You must have an idea where is the center of gravity. Keep it shaking, it helps to pass any curves."

Where's he now, I have never heard of him but he is/was a bloody good driver.
Go the beamer, I was waiting for them to say, he had a 30 min lead and then, mechanical breakdown but the beamer held it together, surprising.
Now thats InsaneBest driving Ive ever seen

Great stuff. Those guys are always entertaining.
I wonder sometimes if flicking it on tarmac stages really is quicker. Probably, coz that's what they know. But the motto in circuit racing is "Sideways is slow". Only time those guys throw a car around is to entertain the crowd.
Often wondered if you set up a rally car a bit lower & stiffer for the tarmac stages & drove it smoothly & neatly, what the difference in times would be.

Impressive but I wonder if he could do the same on dirt.

I think they would be surprising times set.
Never done much rallying, on the speedway, we throw em sideways to wash off speed entering the corner.
If you watch Speedweek on SBS, you can see the radical speed difference a slide makes. Watch just how easily the chase car in this new "Drifting" racing pulls in behind the two racers in a drift.
Your right Max. Sliding is slowing.
Oh, except if you slide off the racing surface, onto the grass infield of a speedway. Then you accelerate radically, totally out of control, and slam into the side of the ambulance.![]()
Damned impressive driving on the TT circuit though. Would have loved to see him jump Ballach Bridge.![]()
Shorty.
