    You can't handle the truth.

Maybe you could get a return ticket and take a surfboard bag with you. Pretty sure they won't believe you were coming down to surf, but won't have a problem with you going somewhere else to surf.

Best thing is to hope that someone is coming over and can bring it for you.

Or, those Australia Post pre-paid bags. They'll go anywhere in Australia for about $8 each.

Now you just have to get the bar into 3kg bite-sized pieces.

    Cheers
    Simon.

Probably as much, if not more, than the bar is worth. Carriers seem to really whack on the charges for one-off odd-shaped items. These sort of jobs are really a PIA to a carrier. They like depot-to-depot freight in tonnes. People who specialise in freighting small individual items charge for the trouble. I remember regularly being charged more by a courier to pick up and deliver a machining job from my shop a few k's to the line haul carrier's depot than the carrier charged to take it 600 miles. If it is less than 20kg's, run the dimensions by your local Postmaster, it is just possible Aust. Post may handle it. They have a length, width, height formula.

Try tasfreight, they might be your best bet, and are usually cheapest out of tassie.

Probably a furniture removalist or freight company like Tas Freight.

I got one from South Australia to Tas for $50.00 just a local freight company that had a delivery over there. So Tas Freight based in Devonport might be worth a call.
