Sorry Jeff, don't remember much about that race, but those I knew who raced it including Bob all had big grins afterwards. Bob and few others I knew in this field have gone to the big race track in the sky. Could probably safely assume that Bob holds the all time lap record for a reverse direction race.
Betcha the V8 boys or the Formula 1 mob wouldn't do this
I seem to recall it was the sportscar competitors who suggested the reverse event which one of three races on the day.
The racetrack Catalina Park is at Katoomba and was still there last time I passed that way a few years ago, very overgrown, but obvious as to what it was...
