    Sydney-siders: A plea for help. :o)

    I am trying to recall the name of a Swedish Container Ship of apx. 30 years ago belonging to Trans Austral/Trans Atlantic Shipping Line.

    It was named after a Sydney Harbour side suburb (expensive & nice I thought) & it began with a W. No, not Wooloomooloo

    Suggestions anyone?

    Woollahra and Waverly aren't harbour side but Wolstonecraft and Waverton are

    I'm surprised no-one has said 'Wild West'. 'ang on. That's Melbourne isn't it.

    Yep, it was the MV Woollahra. I commissioned their first Aussie made (Terry/Luke Refrigeration) Clip-on Refrigerated Container at Port Adelaide (Outer Harbour actually) when she berthed. Ah, happy days. Whenever I smell pickled Herrings & Crispbread I am back there in a flash.

    I was offered a job on a later trip up the East Coast to Cairns & back to Adelaide a year later, but would my old boss release me? Not on yer Nellie. Ah, not so happy days.
    She's probably been broken up now.
