    Well done.....

Now a thought from a bloke who had roof lights....

They need to be set back in the middle of the roof, if they are over the screen they just light the bonnet up and glare on the screen.

But they work great in deep bog holes when your bonnet goes in.....

so are your thoughts from a guy who has fitted a light bar over the windscreen or are your thoughts from a guy that has fitted lights to the roof..........only curious as if you look back on this post i have said that i dont appear to have glare on my bonnet the light is actually about a foot above when we held some wood up......and if you look at phils he took his photo in darkness you can see on the back wall the projection of the beam and it is no where near his bonnet.....!!!!!

and light bars cant be that bad as everyone uses them in the uk, personally i think it may be down tp the lights you use as well......because the small lights we have on the defender are mounted to the roof rack and they do light up the bonnet

I think the bar looks great,,, but I am with SClarke on the glare thing. I had my lights at the front of my rack and moved them to the middle.

See how in your photo the dash and bonnet are illuminated by the lights(not the beam just the emmitted light).. This is very distracting, Uncomfortable like bright dash lights for me, I found it reduced my ability to see as well at night, especially at touring speed. Slower off road stuff not so bad.
But the set up you have looks a treat and if it works for you then all is good.

When I ran my wires up to the roof I ran them under the rubber trim. It tucks under the trim well and you only see it where you pop it out of the trim and up to the gutter.

mmmm maybe i see what your saying with the lights being able to see them on the bonnet cant really tell if the lights are lighting up the dash as phils down lighters were actually on, on his garage so hard to tell, well will have to see when they are wired up to a switch but i will say they are no where near the glare we have on the defender and that is a fact, the defender bonnet lights up like a christmas tree and if you look at the rest of my bonnet apart from the reflection of the lights them selves there is no light on there especially at the end its dark...........these lights are not for on road use so i wouldn't be concerned if there was some glare anyway.........

oh yeh and DWE = discowhite engineering

Check legality of both installation and use. Use on public roads is not recommended by Qld. Transport.

they are not for use on public roads........they are probably not legal but neither are the 8 to 9 inch spotties hanging off every hilux as well as the lights everyone seems to hang of there roof racks...

if i get pulled over and given a ticket well i then know they are not legal...its not a permanant installation the bar can be removed...

and to be quite honest (i know your only helping) but you will probably find that every second car on this forum is running something illegal there is alot of things on cars these days that people have that are illegal with out realising
