    4WD Course In Melbourne

    Hi all,
    I have a friend who's brother has just bought a new TDV8 Cruiser (Idiot)
    but anyway hasnt done a lot of offroading for a long time & would to like to get back into it by doing a familiarisation course with himself & his new truck.
    So question is any one know of any good instructors that hold such a course & a contact number. I have read my 4wd monthly mag but would like to know of any from the purists who have done one.

    I used to be a member of the Toyota Landcruiser club (before the disco) and did my 4wd training with them. I found it to be an excellent course and it comes with the membership. From recollection it was something like $190 for a couples membership.

    I think this would be much cheaper than a private course.

    If you decide to go with a commercial course, I highly recommend PNL 4wd.
    Very competant instructors, group surroundings for the course, and really friendly and helpfull people.

    They were the only mob we spoke to that didnt freak out about my deaf GF wanting to do the course, and took a lot of care to make sure she was able to understand everything that was going on. She took my defender on the course, and absolutely whipped the butts of most of the guys on there with their 40's, patrols, prados and jeeps.

    The responses we received from some other training groups still makes me very angry now.

    Most Clubs will have accredited instructors and run regular courses at minimum cost to members, plus then he can go on trips to further his experience ( that's where the real learning occurs IMHO ). Best thing he can do is join a medium sized club of about 80 members ( not too small not too big ) Go to 4WD Victoria's website and there is a list of them. If you want a couple of reccomendations PM me.

    Ive heard that PNL is great but $$$$$$Pricey$$$$$$.

    He would be better off letting Ray and Adam show him how to break his cruiser and tell him why he should have got the new Deffa lol.

    It will cost him about the same LOL.

    Umm, why? If he is an idiot for other reasons, fair enough, but I don't think you can call anyone an idiot for buying one of those. What was the alternative??
