Rostered Day Off.
Basically a day off and get paid.
We work a 38 hour week,but do an extra 1/2 hour a day of ordinary time to get every second friday off!!!!!
YEP a local government benifit/scam:cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:
Best bit is when you work an RDO,first 1.5 hours@time and a half,the rest of the day is doubletime!!!!!

I took a RDO yesterday to follow the green machine away for the weekend. Currenty sitting in Wide Bay Training Area having breakfast while slapping a million mozzies and sandflies.

Had an interesting drive up, will start another post

Build up the time and take a flex day when needed.
I'm currently in negotiating doing two jobs part time with work:eek:. One torture pit isn't enough.

If your getting every second friday off thats 2 fridays month which means your working a 36 hour week

If you gettin every wcond friday off thats 1 friday month your workinga 38 hour week

Reason you get overtime on RDO is that you have already worked and accumulated 38 hours for the week do the shift is an overtime shift

thats because RDO are providing you with a leisure day and when 38 hour week was negotiated in the early 1980's the accrual was for the day off per month. Your not at work so you don't get paid site money which is for difficulties, noise, dust, dirt etc whilst working and your not travelling to work.

Some Unions in EBA bargaining have argued and got payment of your regular normal pay allowances fares when you go on annual leave holidays as that's your normal pay. Personally l don't agree with that entitlement but thats another story
