    Some basic AULRO questions...

I've been a member for a while now (and loving it!)...
    Just some basic AULRO questions:

    1. Is AULRO just an online chat-about-my-LR or is there a 4x4 club(s) behind it? Eg. Is there a LR/RR club in Vic that everyone (in Vic ) belongs to or are we all just random LRO's in cyberspace?

    2. Does everyone meet up once a year or something to say "wow, look at yours..."?

    3. ...and this one's starting to get to me! What's with the "member since Jan 1970" thing? Must have been a popular month for AULRO signups - no-one in Feb, or March, or 1971, or 1981...

I'll sleep better when i know the answer to these q's (especially #3).

    Hmmmmmm
1.) Yes an online chat about my landy forum... but in saying that, a lot of guys are also members of LR clubs and if you need anymore info on that just ask one of the members in your area and they can give you the rundown.

2.) We have numerous aulro get-togethers, you just need someone to organise something and invite everyone along.

3.) As for dates, the system has been upgraded a couple times when it kept growing, and one of the upgrades reset everyones date of joining to Jan '70.... so thats an easy way to know those that have been members for over a year. And for those who don't like that date, you can View All your posts and got to the very first one then let us know the date... it may not be 100% accurate if you're more a lurker but closer than 1970

Hope this helps... glad you like the place.

Mate AULRO is what you make from it, is a club with trips and Information to do with anything Land Rover. just ask the right question in the appropriate area and it will be answered. It is a club in a club. (Land Rover Style)

There is a chat room - look on the tool bar where it says 'chat' - I have never seen it too busy though - most 'communications' seem to take place in threads

There is a LR club in Victoria, but I have a bias against them, so maybe best if I don't go there. I do know of one or two people here that are members, but not many.

    2. Does everyone meet up once a year or something to say "wow, look at yours..."?

Don't know about everybody meeting up, but depending on where you live there seems to be a bit of activity happening in most states - for example a few (quite a few by all counts) of the lads from Melbourne and surrounds are heading to Tallarook area for a 'bit of fun' - plus there are other things going on around the queens birthday w/end

    3. ...and this one's starting to get to me! What's with the "member since Jan 1970" thing? Must have been a popular month for AULRO signups - no-one in Feb, or March, or 1971, or 1981...

I think, and I am sure Dave (Incisor) will correct me - I think it was a set up 'hitch/glitch/' incorrect data when they first set the site up....no big deal really.
