It doesn't seem that long ago they built their all singing, all dancing landscaped LR site.
I recall thinking at the time, "Yipee! Some competition for Prestige".

Then I discovered it was the same crowd. Parts service "seemed" ok for a short time until the new staff novelty wore off & then they were back ignoring phone calls, E-mails & giving ridiculous negative replies.

What is it with a lot of Parts Divisions? Do they send them to a Special School to teach them how to be rude & off handed efficiently or something. It most always seems like the old "Them & us" scenario.

I know people from Adelaide that went to Port Lincoln & to the South East (Kingston??) to purchase a new LR product as the prices & service were better. They just planned & made a trip of it even for their routine services.
Maybe their attitude has caught up with them at last?

    Millicent, I believe.

We have a customer who gets their Discovery II serviced here regularly (every 10 000km) and they live 70 km from the Darwin Dealer...

yeah, but you blokes are known for giving service, being enthusiastic and knowing what you are talking about. Another Landy driver here in town still raves how after being recovered from down near Finke one of your young blokes had them going and sorted in 1/2hr with a problem that had palgued their td5 'Fender since new and the Newcastle dealer couldn't fix.
    Makes a big difference.

Teasdales in Singleton 100km down the valley from me were in the same mould, unfortunately they lost the franchise.

Just recalled a case from Prestige early days. (Read before one became much LR wiser)

Wanted 8 spark plugs. Prestige sent them out. "That'll be $9 each thank you" $72.

K-Mart for the same plug. $2 ($16) each, so back they went for a refund.

The $9 ones weren't even in a pretty LR box, so who knows, they may have bought them from K-Mart as well.

I'm sure some of these places work on the assumption we are all Surgeons/Solicitors etc, & just drop the vehicle off & send the business the bill no matter what it needs.

yes they have lost their franchise - and some people there have noted why - I wont say publicly.

Solitare I believe have the new franchise from the fianacial year - with a 22 million dollar facility currently being built behind Bunnings Mile end to be a LR / Jag / Volvo I think dealer in one. Its pretty big.

They'll have to sell a lot of cars to recoup their $22M investment. Guess they're not going to be discounting then.

Try dealing with the stealer in townsville, never any parts in stock,no service and a bad attitude
Broke down there friday ,spent three hours there to be told to take my car elsewhere, car still there
Last disco spent 17 months there in 3 years
Sent the car south for 7 weeks got it back no problems after that (300k)
I wish this one broke down anywhere but townsville
I takeit to cairns (1000k round trip) to have service and warrenty work they treat you like a real person
