Hot bed, is an understatement, you must have read my letter to the editor( northern Star) earlier in the year, just after they complained that ballina council didn't tell them about the NYE concert at lennox and the time it was closing, they were worried the concert goers may go to Byron afterwards. Hey it was only the holiday season. the only thing missing is a big fence around the place to keep outsiders out.

As quiggers said, the place is over run with full on loonies and they are in council from top to bottom, the crossing referred to is on a disused rail line, that may never be reopened due to costs and this that and the other thing.
Dobbo , they don't want outsiders in the area, the local carry on is well reported up here, it all defies logic and commonsense, some friends of ours had there DA refused because the local tree preservation order, they insisted a couple of scrub trees remain on the block, one would have ended up in there kitchen. Their solution, they sold the block and moved out of byron shire.

they thought of that, were going to have the builder back over them with the bobcat, but, the buggers, had photos of the block, and were threatened with a fine if anything happened to the trees. Thats the tree hugging mentality of that council.

Don't be fooled that a disused rail line wouldn't need a fully functioning and tested level crossing.

I used to live in Mt Evelyn in the Dande ranges, you couldnt cut down a shrub without the council knocking on the door, I had an arborist out to trim a tree that had been lightening struck and one of the neibours rang the council to complain and they hit me with a stop work order for cutting 1 branch off a tree that was dead and hanging over another neibours house.

I feel sorry for anyone up there, it just goes to show that drugs do really impair your better judgement.

Next time any of you see them lay down in front of a dozer, just quietly knock it into gear.
