    I can hear my old dad's advice when I got my first car - never lend your car! Saves a lot of grief.
    I wish I listened to my dad.. I was 19 and just bought a new car so I lent my old VH SLE 253V8 (was a nice commy) to a mate who just lost his job and had no money for a car .. what did he do? sold it! no joke at all. I saw 500 bucks and that was it... court here is a waste of time and too much bother for a couple of grand.

    Anyways I learn my lesson early

    You should have found where it was and had it repossesed. Legally he could not sell it without your signature and papers.
