    Hi Guys,

The shovel / pick / axe mounts could be yours for $100ea including zinc plating. I'll have to pull it off the Defender and see what it weights, but it's light enough to post.

The prototype does look a little skewed, I didn't quite align the holes initially

Anyway, if I go ahead and make some, they'll all be jigged up and drilled with a pedestal drill press instead of a cordless drill on the back lawn. What's more, I'll get someone who can weld (not me) to do a neater job.

Anyway, if I get orders for 5 or more I'll go ahead and make some. Any less and by the time I pay someone to weld, and pay the minimum charge on the zinc plating, it's not really worth it.

PM me if you're interested, if it goes ahead I'll advertise them in the markets section.

Other improvements will also include a better and more aesthetic looking bracket for the shovel.

If you have a Kaymar rear wheel carrier, then the plate will bolt onto the plate in the middle of the carrier. However if you have a mag wheel mounted on the back door, then it may not mount securely. I'd have to have a look at one to be able to tell for sure.

hey paul...that'd be me you need to speak to about Clarkies sparewheel carrier. Don't buy one...not worth it. the wheel has fallen off the back too often.....lol.....NOT

Steve did a great job with it and i'm more than happy with it. easy to use and makes the door much lighter. I have some pics of it mounted on my deefer if you want to see it.

Okay, I weighed the shovel holder today. The prototype weighs in at 3.12kg and if I bubble wrap it, then Auspost will post it on weight only and not cubed volume.

You can calculate postage at www.auspost.com.au by entering my postcode (3153) and yours on the postage calculator.

Slight hijack... If anyone has a set of the military tool brackets for a series LR lying around, I would be intertested in them...
