    No Landi Now

Just heard the word via the postal service.
After a year and a half the ex is ready to talk divorce. Hoo Bloody Ray.
However I have been politely "Invited" to meet with her and a solicitor to "Discuss A Mutually Satisfying Outcome"
Is it just me or is this code for bend over and grab your ankles cause here it comes ready or not.
If anybody reading this has been there and done that then any hot tips on this one would be greatly appreciated. I dont mind putting off the Landi purchase, but not forever.

Sounds like the politically correct term for YOU IS ABOUT TO BE REEMED!!!!!!!
Bugga is these day all assets are fair game including your super funds.
Many will say fair as it was a partnership to start with.

There is no need for a solicitor if you are just having some preliminary negotiations. Ultimately what is happening is he is into bat for her and you will end up paying for some of his fee. I can see no reason to fatten his bank balance. And if you have kids, dont get the government involved, work out a private agreement. The solicitor can draw up documents based on what you have negotiated without him being involved in the negotiation.

Good Drills John, shall investigate immediately.
Already have a private agreement regarding the kids but was informed the solicitors are mandatory for a settlement/divorce. Havent until now been advised we can settle privately so to speak.
Of course my earlier advice came during a rather panicky call about an hour back to my three times divorced brother.
His advice, sell everything and disappear into the bush for a year or two.
Bloody raving nutter my brother. No wonder he's single hey.

Make sure you take the high road and dont let it get dirty, as even her solicitor will lose respect for her if she gets greedy when your playing nice.

Offer other things to her to leave your super alone as it will cost you a %tage to get her share out so it's worth giving her something else rather than splitting your super.

Make sure she goes in thinking she will be winning, play dumb and then hit her with what you want and this will more than likely push her over the edge and most likely will start abusing you and then you come back with a little here and a little there.

Make sure you dont take up too much time unless your not taking you solicitor and if thats the case waste as much time as you can as she will be paying but dont sign anything unless you get it looked at by a solicitor as you could lose everything in the wording of a paragraph.

If you take a solicitor, make out like youve known him for years, this puts most non seasoned solicitors a bit nervous even better if you have a freind that is a solicitor.

Dont get angry with your solicitor and if you dont like the way it's going, stop the meeting and dont sign anything and get a new solicitor dont sign something your not happy with, this is meant to be an equitable meeting so make it that way and if it's not then dont agree.

other than that, good luck, life as you know it has come to an end, you'd better get used to it.

    Greeaaatttt,
Shes already got the house the car and all the savings before I knew I was getting seperated. Now the super, red hot this is, just lovin it.
Thank god most of my shares went into trusts for the kids so thats ok.
About all ive got left is a wee small glimmer of self respect and thats looking shaky right now.
Better take the vaseline to the meeting, may as well be comfy.
Will take all the posted comments on board.
    Thanks all for the assistance

McRover is dead right about your super, trade anything not to split it.Even your left nut, just make the other work twice as hard!!!!!
Your super only really starts to earn big $$$$ as its gets 2/3 the way to your retirement, cut it in half now will cost you BIGTIME come retirement age, thats the way compound interest works.
Goodluck, know any Bikies???,they do all sorts of special jobs
