with a bit of justice, all those quills would have been inserted up the ar#e of the dogs owner.

a pit bull at one end of the lead and a moron at the other.

Yeah, treat any animal properly, it will repay your love a thousand fold.
Abuse it, it will never trust any one or any thing.

My white dog, a bullie cross, "with several other things" is as gentle as any baby I have seen, just don't be a cat.
He loves cats, just can't eat a whole one.
Did I mention, I am a bird lover, and I DON'T like cats.

Out in the paddock is 2\3 of a ton of jet black Angus bull, the most placid and gentle bull I have known, and I grew up riding the house cow home from school.

It's all in the way you treat them and bring them up. Even the Pit Bull, can be the most loving family dog. With a nut case streak.

As for the "Healer", it was on the advice of a police dog handler, that a former girl friend got a red and a blue healer.
Blue named "Hysterical", and it was, run around, yap, bark, carry on.
Red named "Peace", the stealth weapon. No noise, no warning, BANG, gotcha.

A mate of mine, passed away now, had a Doberman breeding pair. Named Rip and Tear. The dog, "Rip", used to happily trot up the street, with a set of Harley saddle bags on his back, a note for the local shop keeper, and some money in his collar pouch. Any of the local kids could play with him all day, not one adult could get near him, if he was wearing his collar pouch. Yet in all his life, I never knew Rip to have a go at any one.

It's the way you bring them up.

    Shorty.

Its Not a Pit Bull, its a garden variety Bull Terrier, I have a mate who has only had them and they are brought up right they are the softest loving dog you will find it plays for hours with his kids and their pet Rats....They are persistant and pretty fearless..no wrong word thick
I noted some Broad generalizations on previous posts and thought the pure breed Bull Terrier should have some defense when being mistaken for the American cross bred "PIT BULL" which is most owned by genital deficient "HE" men who have a problem with their inner strength...and character flaws why own a dog bred just to fight anything till the death including their owners at times...bizarre

Thats just coz I don't like that type of dog ie Staffies, pitbulls etc all those piggy looking things. I like softer dogs like Border collies, labradors and all the other fluffy hairy types
So you can have the staffie and I'll have some other dog just to even things out eh?
What about Numpty - He may be soft but is getting less hairy every time I see him

I have friends in WA with an American Bull "Penny".
The bloody thing thinks its a scarf, and tries to lie across your neck. Twenty something kilos of bull terrier is heavy around the neck.

Of course they have not got much power in the rear legs so to get on your lap.,there is much scratching and straining with the fronts. Result legs ripped to pieces.

What a beautiful dog it is. Pity is that they cannot let it off the lead when they walk as other people are so frightened for their animals that they give them a hard time. Yet Penny is so gentle she would probably not bite a flea.
