I think it was originally gonna be a 2.7 cause the UK landy mags said it was gonna be a 2.7 but them they changed it to be a 2.4 after a little more infomation was let out.

Does anyone know if the 07 Defender still has the hand brake on the drive shaft?

Haven't heard any different - no reason to change, and they usually avoid unnecessary changes to the design. It would involve substantial redesign of the rear brakes (OK, adopting brake manufacturer's off the shelf design!) and the linkage, which would tend to be very vulnerable to offroad damage.
It would be such a departure I think we would have heard of it if it were planned.
Only reason I can think of to change would be to reduce manufacturing cost, and the cost of design plus changes in documentation and approvals and parts stocks would probably outweigh the savings.

I agree with you John, I've seen no mention of it so I'd thought I'd ask...

Any of the forum's UK members checked this out??

Also does it have the A-frame on the rear diff or is it now like the D2's (i.e. any significant suspension changes)?

It doesnt look like any part of the suspension has been changed at all and most likely still has the poxy handbrake lever location.

Yes that part of the hand brake hasn't moved I noted in the pictures. You'd think after all these years they'd have finally done something to the lever at least!

Don't mind if they've left the rest intact.

Good on you Timmo. I agree with you. I wouldn't like to see it moved.
