    Perfect on analogue, patch on the digital signal in the STB? If so, quite common, aerial (Or amp/cabling/splitters if you have that type of setup) simply not designed for or up to digital. Your STB probably has a signal strength meter in one of the system menue - what does it show?

    shows signals of between 80-90%, but constantly changing.

    That signal level should give you a good pic check to make sure there are no loose connectors or moisture inside the cable,corroded balun.also check that cockatoos haven't been chewing the cable
