Must be cause I'm an old scroate, that I can still remember back to the 1st world cup finals in second one in SA too. Went down hill once the game went pro & they became a bunch of overpaid nancies in licra skin suits but I'd like to think that under Graham Henry that might be changing a bit. It would be nice to think that the Australia A/ Junior ABs result mentioned above bodes well for the ABs future. Funny old game though.

I remember when the All Blacks got bailed out of the Cup in Fance in 1999. The news had a Kiwi supporter on the steps of New Zealand House in London where there was mass grieving and I'll never forget his quote "No guts. No pride in the jersey"

I watched the All Blacks play France a weekend or two back. They played brilliantly and are definitely on top in the skill department and running like a Tdi after an oil change. It's a pity they'll cave against teams that are not as good in the big games. Pity for you that is. Great news for us because you sack coaches of the calibre of John Mitchell and send them our way.

I knew I shouldn't have started on this, time will tell & hopefully the best team will win, & it will be a spectacle worthy of the game & Rugby will be the ultimate winner. Re John Mitchell, he was a hell of a player in his day & as a coach had all the technical skills but his autocratic nature & lack of man management skills probably made his tenure as ABs coach one of their lowest ebbs for a long time. He seems to have learnt from that time & moved on to better things with WA. Good on him.

Well given we are as good to make it as far as the quarters on our best day, I may as well wish you all the best. You are overdue. We Australians have to be satisfied that somebody beats the South Africans. Don't let us down.

I remember at the last World Cup I was watching England vs South Africa and ended up barracking for South Aftrica. I never thought that would happen. Had to take a thirty minute shower and go into counselling afterwards, low point.

How's that ugly French dude? Sebastian Cheval. I hope to see him again, he provided the kind of interest that only a cave man can bring.
