Does it make it grow better?

I think the last time I ate rabbit was over 50 years ago. The rabbitoh used come around and sell it to the housewives when we lived at Hume Weir. We couldn't afford chicken.

Rabbit Casserole, mmmmmmmmmmm favourite meal, leaves chook for dead, try this next time you shoot a bunny, skin and gut it and hang it inside a clean hessian in the shade for a few days, it won't go off, the meat gets a skin and preserves it, after a few days lightly fry (gently) in butter, then enjoy the best feed you'll ever have, Regards Frank.

I've a 22 and looking at 12 gauge for trap or duck. If a weekend of hunting is to be organised I'll be in for sure. Used to do a bit in Europe, but since returning I've only managed the range.

So does anyone in WA eat wild game? I developed quite a taste for wild pig, deer, rabbit and hare when I lived in Germany (had a mate who was a hunter - but you could even buy it in some supermarkets) - and wild pheasant/grouse/partridge/etc when I was in the UK.

Have been eating a fair bit of wild kangaroo from King River Wild game, but haven't been able to find anywhere to get wild pork, and unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any wild deer over here?

Have been thinking about taking up hunting to get a better/cheaper supply of wild game meat...

    Thanks.
Mate, have owned a Browning BLR in .308 for about 12 years; buying it second hand. Mine is a pre-81 mod and has seen a hell of a lot of work (shows it as well). I have been very happy with the rifle and would recomment one. My only complaint is that the barrel gets bloody hot after a few rounds (you only touch it once) as it is a lightwieght. My rifle has worn out one mag as it is now about 26+ years old; shot it on the weekend and still use it extensively for pigs up here.

Thanks Troy, I was looking at a Ruger M77 (left hand bolt action) but (as a mate suggested) after forty years of using a lever action it might be a little late to try adapting to a bolt-action. Everything I have heard about the Browning is good stuff - your comments really confirmed it.

A couple of the shots on your gallery really do show you having a bit of fun with the pigs up there - not to mention the buffalo!

Once again thanks for your input.
