Yep, that is enough to drive you crazy
Sorry to hear about your loss and inconvenience - i hate it when there is no respect for other people's things!!!
I was at work today. Working on the 5th floor in an office of a University in Fitzroy . Finished the job about 12 and was cleaning the tools in the street outside the loading bay when a guy walks past and asks if I own a white Landrover. I said yes but it was a Range Rover. He informs me that the passenger side window is smashed. He also says that he found a black brief case that had been thrown over his back fence and he handed it to a passing police patrol. I rush back to the car park to find my window smashed, my briefcase gone, wallet stolen as well as my Ipod and a number of other items gone.
Seems the person only took what he could grab from the open window as the doors were still locked and the alarm had triggered but no-one took any notice of it. Wallet and Ipod were out of site in the console and yes I know I should not have left it there but being Sunday the Cafeterias ware closed and there was no need to carry any money.
This is going to cost three times what I made for the day (should have stayed home and inconvenienced the office workers/lecturers by only working there in office hours).
I have canceled all my cards etc but by the time I source a new window, get a replacement license etc it will cost me at least another day of not working and I doubt it will be worth claiming on insurance.
At least the police rang and said they had my brief case as it had a diary with 2 months worth of uninvoiced work in it and there is no way I could have remembered all the jobs and material costs I need to charge for the last two months. Some lessons to be learned for me I suppose.
I know everyone has bad days but my cars have been broken into, attempts to steal my trailer and least 10 times in the last 10 years and I am sick of it.
