Hit a Rock at Mt Mee

Tried a few of the forestry tracks at Mt Mee last wekend and just missed hitting this rock beside the track.
Seriously, the forestry tracks on the Dayboro side of the forestry station are definitely more chalengin that the tracks on th enorthern side (as in the picture) Some low range stuff but take a mate.

Nice place for a drive. I have not been there for years since I sold the series 3 Wagon. I used to take some guys from the Boys' Brigade there for Duke of Edinburgh Award hikes. This was when you needed a permit to drive the tracks.

Camping permits were hard to get but we were on good terms with the ranger. One great campsite was on the western side overlooking Somerset Dam.

The saw mill was abandoned literally with no camping allowed there.

    I really miss those times.

Mt Mee is great last year unfortunately they sent a grader through just about all the roads which is not good in my books,,still a few fire break tracks that are quite hair raising tho,,
