Coming home from Pictures last night the shell was $1.22 the BP on the next block was $1.33 a litre now same product, same taxes, smae distribution net work costs tell me the difference in price.
Malcolm Fraser also introduced the Govt Tax on Petrol at time it was 4 cents litre the money was supposed to pay for Roads program and develop alternative fuels sources for Australia.
Malcolm Fraser did seal the road around Aussie and then the road money seemed to disappear as teht ax excise rate went up and up
Never seen any alternative fuel source or technology developed out of tax money
Politicians are liars and voters are sheep
Any bio fuel doesn't save you as you got to figure in the cost of growing the product fertilizering it and cutting it down and transporting it and the conversion costs.
Personally l like the idea of nuclear powered range rover now that would be something
"I would love to be the person to say to OPEC, "Oh $90 per barrell, no it's ok we don't need it""
I recently read an article in the newspaper where it said that the opec people had already sent some threats to the world if we start seriously reducing our demand for oil and using alternative fuels
India and china should be able to take up the excess oil that we don't use. however, there will be big changes to their economy in the future as the whole world slowly moves away from a reliance on oil. We have interesting times ahead
