    Smile Defender pricing.

There was a thread recently from someone bemoaning the fact he couldn't buy a Defender at Red Book prices.
Red Book reckon $20600 to $24,700 retail price for a 2003 Xtreme but the lying swine wouldn't ever ever put one on their front at that price.
More like high 30K to low 40s!
Mine went for 38 and I'm very pleased I waited and advertised on the net.
Good luck any sellers out there.
    Alan.

'cos I've bought one without a computer! Never again am I going to be let down by something I can't maintain and have no control over, that's why.

My ultimate would be a fender 5 door wagon with the 300tdi. Hopefully something I can organise once i move house. Fingers are crossed for early next year. Ive driven the td5's for work and i just didn't like the fly by wire and the computer crap. Too much to go wrong.

In the current (April '07) edition of LRO they do a comparo of Disco & Defender, and in that article too they marvel at the high prices 300Tdi Defender 5 door wagons & 90's fetch.

    No wonder - I say. And I'm so glad I got a 300 Tdi S/W

Yeah, the Red Book pricing is a pain - bad enough trying to buy one for what they say, but as insurers use this for their market value, it has an ever worse side effect...even doing my '94 for agreed value, they will only go a certain % above the book price...
