When we traded our Ford Probe on the Forester from Subaru Penrith (we had tried to sell the Probe privately - Ace considered it!), it didn't even get onto the lot. It was picked up and went to the wholesalers the same day.
It wasn't a car they'd sell even though it was in excellent condition.

When I was looking for a replacement for the stolen Subaru I had a request in with the local Subaru dealer to call me when they got in a Liberty wagon that was over ten years old. I called them more than once, and they were happy to take my name but I didn't ever get a call back.
I suggested that I was willing to pay cash and better than wholesale price, and willing to do this all same day.
I reckoned it was a great offer, they get a thousand up for no heavy lifting, and in cash.
