news from Kookynet - met some Landies in Broome

Hello guys, thank you to all of you for the contacts and tips. You are wonderful!!

All is well for us apart from the fact that we drove on a stone or something and broke the right rear break line and got a hole on the fuel hose. Got a new brake line made in Broome and repaired the hole on fuel hose as part would have taken 2 weeks to order. Let's hope it holds up.

We ran into Steven Red County 110 1985 and his gang on the carpark of Cable Beach right before sunset time, and we all drove together on the beach to enjoy the view. It was an even more special moment due to the fact that we could share it with fellow landies.

We also met here a young Pommy Rupert who has been touring the world with his Landy for nearly 5 years now. He used to work at Land Rover in the UK as an engineer. He will relocate in Perth for a while in a few weeks time and we strongly recommended that he got in touch with the local club, of course.

We just reunited with a lovely couple from Perth - not Landies but that is their only flaw - and we will be touring together for the coming weeks.
We are today heading to Qondong then further north on the Dampier Peninsula and should be in Derby in about a weeks' time. Will try to send you a message from there.

    Warm regards to all
    Martine and Robert Kookynet

    Hello M & R,

You are lucky to be up there instead of down south at the moment. It was -3.6 here at the farm last night, and todays max temp has been 9.9 degrees. The fire has been constantly alight for the last 3 or 4 weeks.

Glad to hear you've still going well. Car problems don't sound all that serious, so that is good.

Pruning on the vines has started but not a lot of enthusiasm to start early or work late due to the cold.

    Cheers
David & Becky (& Inga too!)

We're leaving Broome tomorrow (Mon) for Cape Leveque - maybe we'll see you on the road!

Apparently the Gibb River Rd is closed until Tues/Wed, for those trying to travel through there.

    Cheers,

    Gordon
