My opinion is that all junkies should be given ONE chance to clean up or get one free shot by the government, including the ICE freaks now as well.
I know what goes on in lithgow, my comment was more to say that moving out of a small country town to move to the coast or the city because of drug problems is stupid. There are drug problems everywhere. I am a teacher, i hear about alot of the stuff that happens.

Ever wonder why the XPT's get searched by constable woof woof when they come in to the metropolitan areas? or did you think they use drug dogs to search for fruit coming out of the fruit fly exclusion zones?

Perhaps you could go around your neighbours and discuss the drug problems within your local area, should be a good topic over a few beers and a cone or two.
Did you even read my post? Did you miss the bit about stacey seeing a drug deal the other day?

i didnt say it was drug free, just that moving from the country to the city/coast to get away from drugs is stupid, drugs are everywhere, and i feel safer here than i do in the city, i dont give a **** what anyone says. As others have said drugs are a problem everywhere, with new drugs like ice on the market its getting worse not better, and alot of people see selling drugs as a get rich quick plan.

The one who fired the gun has been charged with attempted murder, should result in a stint inside.
Now they local cops need to tidy the rest of the ice problem up.

I wont be holding my breath, its pretty rampant in society at the moment, and highly addictive. Controlling something like that is hard, where there is a need for such substances people will always cash in on it.

    I don't think it's a need

But yes, whenever there's a market, someone will supply. The trouble is, it's not as if people are walking into Woolies asking for Ice (well, not this sort anyway) - a market has to be created for the stuff.

I worked 5 years in a drug clinic and I can tell you that every dirty trick in the book is used to get people started and to keep them using.

Just reflecting on the "small country town" thing.

I live and work in small country city

I've had patients turn up literally in pieces (and not all pieces were found). I've had people I've treated who lived in fly-speck towns where the mail came once a week, there was no medical service, a one-room school, ... and drugs.

There are drugs anywhere there are roads. For everyone else there's alcohol.

But when it comes to easily "getting on" you can't beat a major city. Anytime there were supply problems here, people would drive to Brisbane. I'm sure it's the same in any state - the bigger cities have more accessible drugs. It's the supermarket vs corner store situation - there's greater variety and lower prices.

I gave the Lithgow area the benefit of the doubt and went to check the area out today, well actually went to pick up a horse from there today, D2 towed beautifully of course and towed a BIG float there and back on just over a tank, very impressed. However I have not changed my mind about that cold miserable, place which is the country. Admittedly it's very pictureque, but you can only look at the same scenery for so long before it bores you to death. I stand by my statement. FA to do except get ****ed and shag eachother senseless.

    Hi DiscoTDI.
Ive had this conversation with CraigE last time I was down his way.Ice methyl amphets or what ever you call them are rife in the mining industry.48 hours or less and its undetectable by the mines testing.your average Joe blow pot smoker will test posative for weeks after a smoke,so they change over to Ice so they can still get off.
Craig tests employees as part of his minesite job.

Have to say that there is not too much out this way, it is here but not as rampant as you would think.

What will disturb most people is that 5% are stupid enough to turn up and think they wont get caught, the worst part is with all the namby pamby laws these days you cant sack the turds and you have to try and rehabilitate them
