I have to agree with Adrian - there are not many nazis on this site and that is what is good about it - for sure some posts may not be to my taste - and while I hate cats - of the feral type - this one would not be to my taste - my response would be to not read it.

However, as I said there are not many nazis here and I certainly respect your right to have your say.

Haven't seen the thread, so can't comment on it's content or context...but, whether it should be there or not, people always have the option not to read past the first post if they are (Or are likely to be) offended.

Well i was curious so i searched for the thread and found one, well to say we have 2 house cats and a dog so i can say i dont hate them but i had to see what got your missus upset.
I read it and because i was laughing the missus came to see what got my funny bone and all she said was thats not nice and clipped me across the ear when i laughed and she really loves them and she realized it was done in gest not to advocate it.

It's an open forum that runs 24hrs - well past some of the time some people have had a few beers.

I personally hate guns..............for several personal reasons .........and I cringe when I see people discussing them and what they do.

................but

1. It's a free world - and I have lived in many parts of that world that enjoy to eat animals which we would consider 'domesticated' - not my bag - but ............

2. Many posts on here are jocjular to say the least - you can't take them all seriously - if you do I think counceling is in order - or even simpler don't read the posts.

3. Truely distastful material is removed by the admin etc., PDQ (pretty damn quick) - but humour all beit a little dastateful, is left to the judgement of the adults that we are/

4. In relation to guns .......well we all know that they are just pen15 substitutes

What I'd like to question is this - do we really need these sorts of threads on a LR site?

Theres the old saying that you cant keep everyone happy, to one person a joke to another offensive, bit like TV, dont like the station change it. Whilst a site with people bought together by their love of LR's it is ultimately a "people" site. Not everything on here is about Landies. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats, not a big cat fan, have read the thread before and laughed. Would I in fact do that to one our 2 cats.....of course not. Sometimes I also want to throttle my kids , doesnt mean I would,

Not having read the thread myself I cant comment on its structure or the way it reads but like my dad used to say if you dont like what you see dont look at it
I guess what Im trying to say is theres more than one way to skin a cat
