Buggered up 1x 9" Makita saw over years.
IVe seen electric (least i assume they were electic), water cooled bladed jobbies that hang on a chain from a hoist (more usually a vehicle mounted crane) It looked to have a 12-15 inch blade on it and was in a rotating cradle. I have no idea whod have one to hire but ID imagine this would be your best bet.

a masonary cutting disc IS for CUTTING MASONARY eg, concrete and stone.
and a demo saw wouldnt be dangerous to use, they come with guide wheels on their base and a side handle so it can be opperated on its side, fancy that? so once the cut was started the disc/blade would hold the machine in place and the wheels would stabilise the rest.
how much more stable do you want it? he sid it was in the ground? so unless ''the ground'' is quick sand ide say it wont move?

i suggested a masonary cutting disc because they are quite cheap. $5-$15each as compaired to a diamond disc of the same size! i have a 9'' dry diamond disc in the shed with a price tag of $258!
so for a one of job a throw away masonary disc would do.

and read the safety intruction on a demo saw about elevated use
i am a work place health and safety officer for a concrete company i work with this everyday ,look at the legislation and code of practice in using concrete cutting equipment ,IT IS UNSAFE TO USE A DEMO SAW ON A ELEVATED CUT
