p15 The operator should be instructed in and competent at operating the saw safely.Where possible, the saw should be used with the operator’s hands at waist height when cutting horizontally, and between shoulder to knee height when cutting
vertically. It may be necessary for scaffolding or supports to be provided to ensure
safe use of the saw.

Where possible dosnt mean its enforcable.
it all comes down to the individuall in the end.
C'mon fellas, you're making me doubt my safe working practices, i thought it wasokay to cut an elevated slab with a demo saw above your head while standing on a step ladder balanced on the fork tines..........

Carton of corona and you can use my metabo and 9" diamond blade![]()
Thanks very much for all the advice and offers to lend diamond blades!!
In the end I decided to buy my own diamond blade, as I have quite a few jobs I will need it for on the house. Did the job with ease - cut like butter through most of the concrete, only slowed down when I got to sections with lots of reo.
Started out using the blade on a crappy circular saw I knew was on the way out - managed to do a 1" deep cut the whole way around before that saw stripped all the teeth from the armature. Finished the job with a decent saw.
Oh and before anyone asks - I wore appropriate PPE, and hosed the pipe down between cuts (more to keep the blade cool and make it cut easier - but it also kept the dust down).
