Thread: Inherent problems fitting doors.

Haven't done it but have looked at what is involved. Two problems I can see - the check strap arrangements varied, and you will probably have to do some sort of a workaround - I had to fitting S3 doors to a 2a, for example, and the same sort of problem would exist fitting S3 to 110 or vice versa.
The second problem is that all the windup window doors and particularly the post 1987 doors are a lot thicker than the Series doors, to the extent that they moved the seats inboard about an inch and a half and fitted a smaller steering wheel, so you may need to do this to keep elbows out of the doors. Without power steering this could pose difficulties.

Its easier to fit them to a Series 3 than ealier models as the check strap to firewall bracket is the same on a Series 3 as later doors but different on a Series 2A. The holes for the door catches on the B pillar dont line up and have to be redrilled but is easily do-able.
