    magnetic light base

    Hi,

I'm looking for a magnetic light attachment. I've seen them being used on heavy machinery for night works. They are just stuck on where required for external light. I want to use them for a camping light. if anyone knows where I can get these I'm all ears.

    cheers

    hey.....the chassis is steel.........

cant help with the magnetic bases.......but if you wanted to make something up......
get a couple of magnets out of the hard drive of an old computer........

they are made from precious metals and are very strong.......and i mean very strong.......
the streets are usually littered with old computers during a council clean up.......

another good one is old speaker cones, 12 inch woofers and better are best, cut the diaphragm support out leaving the tabs as long as possable and with some quick bending and drilling instant mag base.

Supercheap sometimes have them - it's a remote controlled moveable spotlight. They are not bulletproof, but for under $50 it's OK. They have a magnet mount, a power lead and a remote you put on a key chain.

I was going to stick a steel plate on the car for the magnet to work.

    cheers
