    Arrgh

    130 was supposed to go in for rego last week, ran out yesterday, so into the mechanic today. The steering wheel is getting a bit shabby, but beloved mechanic says, put a cover on it and we'll be right. Fine, buy cheapo cover from superc*ap. Fight with the bloody thing for an hour, leave it 'cos I'm getting a little bit tetchy.

    Come back this morning and tear it in half. But they said it would fit up to 435mm steering wheels. Liars and cheats.

    Don't want to spend $180 on a new steering wheel, but hate having to spend those little $20 over and over again to get the shabby fix right.

    Joy number two. When I walked out this morning found that telltale drip, drip, drip. Power steering leak from the box.

    And I thought this rego was going to be a cheapie.

    Never the way.

    BTW, still have short somewhere, gave up on finding it, so that goes to mechanic too. Hate having to pay for stuff that I should be able to fix, hate spending hours thinking something is going right and finding it isn't.

    Mate stuff always work until you need a rego check. Just degrease the oil leak the second before you go in, they cant fail it unless a drip falls on the ground during the test so i am told, thats what i did for the disco when it had a steering box leak but that needed a blue slip as it was being rego'd in NSW for the first time after coming from the ACT. The didnt notice. Matt
