When I rang AAMI yesterday the girl I spoke to said they couldn't insure my '69 SIIA because "it's not in our system. The first landrover we have is 1980". I've had a gutful of these tossers (AAMI that is), I'm moving all my insurance (currently all with AAMI) to someone else - maybe Shannons?
Be aware that AAMI will use the cheapest quote for repairs. I have a 2 month ongoing debacle with my D2 because "Instant Windscreens" (who are the AAMI windscreen contract) are a bunch of incompetent ar*se-clowns. They are still repairing the damage caused by an incorrectly installed windscreen. When I contacted AAMI to inact the "lifetime warranty" on repairs I was told I had to deal with it through Instant Windscreens, AAMI could do nothing. So much for "warranty", huh?
Anyway - I will never use AAMI, or any other company that doesn't allow me to choose the repairer, again. As with everything in life - if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.
