Yup, the same engine was used in rovers, TVR's, land rovers as well as a few others. However the TVR versions have a bit more power as you could imagine

Was there not a vehicle very similar to the Tomcat that raced in the Paris Dakar?
The problem with Icelandics is that the winters are long and cold, giving them opportunities to think up ideas like the tomcat, and if you have a nice warm shed, plenty of time to build your creation.
I like how the hamster hit the iceberg and bent the front bumper.
The kyak would be fun, but the creator said it does not float, hence have to keep moving to stay afloat.

To my knowledge, despite what was said on the video I thought the tomcat was of british origin??

The ones that rase in teh dakar are the wildcats made by bowler. Mad machines. Just as powerfull, but come in a few models to different specs with different engines (including diesels), petrol storage, water storage, spare tyres, engine spares, tubular chassis etc etc etc.

That TVR engine sounded beautiful...kinda sounded like it had a supercharger. Did it?

Yeah, the Tomcat was designed by Bowler, and superceded by the Wildcat. A bunch of British blokes then bought the rights for Tomcat production.

correct, bowler is a british company, they design and build there own tubular chassis's and put a tuned TVR engine under the bonnet! one of the latest is the bowler nemesis! designed off a range rover sport! very very nice it is too! was at the last show i went to!
