Heading off on Saturday for the Cape, originally planned to be away for 5 weeks. That's all gone belly up now...

Spoke to a few blokes at ADF, for whom I've been doing consulting work for many years. When I told them where we were heading they said ... hold on, we've got lotsa work you can do for us whilst you're there. So now we have to be up there longer, visit more places ........ and get paid for it ... .......

Yep, we've put our departure forward to Friday PM. Have to stop Townsville Monday for a briefing and then at Cairns for similar.

What's your general itenary and I'll keep an eye out ...

Should be in cairns sunday, then monday travel up to hopevale, maybe stay a few days. then via cape melville to lakefield. then weipa. the tip.
on the way down proberbly stay vyrilla point, chilli beach, places like that.

Very similar, tho perhaps a couple of days apart. We are going to Lakefield via Starke also. Apparently Lakefield/(Edit) .. Musgrave was closed at Hahn X'ing, hope it's open now.

What rig and how many?? We'll be solo in a dark blue fender towing a galv CT. I'll keep an eye out.

Edit P.S. If you have the time in Weipa, take a run up to Mapoon for a few days ... it's a great spot with top camping . At least it was 3 years ago. We'll be heading there again this time for sure.
