    Time for a small celebration.

I've been writing a film script for a course that I'm doing at uni and I've just passed through the ninety page barrier.

A feature length film script is about 90-120 pages - film scripts are timed at an average of one minute per script page. Not finished, but at least I know that there is enough story to fill the hour and a half to two hours.

I have to submit the final draft at the end of August.

It is about Arthur Phillip's first three weeks in NSW in 1788.

Finished script is between 15-20,000 words, development notes run to about 200,000 words.

    Yay.

    Good stuff, Simon.

I was never any good at school at writing essays. Bloody hopeless, in fact.

You'll have that Masters real soon now (with apologies to Jerry Pournelle! Crikey! I must be old. I remember that line of Jerry's from his days in Byte magazine.)).

Time for a slightly larger celebration.

Went wild in front of the computer over the past few days and finished a major rewrite of the script got it to my supervisor four days earlier which means I can get two more rounds of changes to the script before the 31st rather than one.

It's the first time since the twins were born that I've been ahead of a deadline in my course.

    Yay.

    Cheers
    Simon
