Saw the poster's name, read the thread & now I reckon it will all end in tears somehow.

That is much the same as how I acquired my 2A. She said, "You want it? You can take it, gratis". He said, "Oi, I want paying for that". I said, "BUGGER!"

When a woman buys something she doesn't need in a sale she doesn't think in terms about how much she just spent but how much she just 'saved'.

If you tell her that the bloke across the road wanted $1000 for it but you got it for free you will be rewarded for 'saving' the $1000.

    Tried that, didn't work.

    This did though

Ron tell Elisabeth that it's a form of basic reliable transport on standby for when the P38a breaks down. Shes will argue, then you hit her up for a RRS. Naturally she will refuse so you will have to compromise and agree with her that you cannot afford a RRS so you'll do her a favour, because you love her and keep the series.

She wins, you keep the series. All are happy

Good onya Ron glad to see that you have got a REAL Landrover and one with Leaf Springs it will probably take the wife a while to cool down but providing that you don't wreck the yard too much she'll cool down Is it a 2 or 2a, Long or Short??

If it has a Holden in it Chuck It 2.25 the only true way to travell 4cyl X 4spd X 4oMPH ++

    cheers
LWB - it has a Rover diff rear end. Oh, hang on, there is no diff in the rear end - just a housing. Series IIA - headlights in the centre.

When I get it home I'll suss out the serial nos. for you all. Elsiabeth is off to work shortly, I wonder if I can sneak it home tonight.

Anyone on the forum live around here (apart from me)?

I'll have to clean the garage out and puish it in. Then I can load the table-top up with all the stuff that's currently on the floor.

Get a couple of mates over with air ratchets and dismantle it (I assume you plan a full rebuild anyway?) before she gets home. Easier to hide then... Or you can try and convincer her that it is a load of spares for one of the other members of the fleet?

Not many parts suit a P38A - not even the badge work!

Now this is a good idea, wouldn't take that long.
