    Disco 11 Steering wheel

This may sound a little ansy pansy, but my S11 Disco steering wheel has become rather Sun Burnt. It has become rather uncomfortable when driving and spoils the look of the car.I have look hi and low for a suitable cover, either Black /Grey but trying to get one from Super Cheap or similar is proving a tough call. They are all to small, as most of you would know the steering wheels on the Discos are quite wide.

The Internet hasnt provided any success and even Land Rover dont have one under Land Rover gear or accessories.

Has anyone got any ideas and suggestions where to get one.

Try AMV in Vic, or Truimph Rover spares in SA, they have recently wrecked DIIs.

Find a decent motor trimmer and get the steering wheel retrimmed in leather. Should cost about $250ish. I had the MOMO in the Rangie redone, it is very nice .

I bought a 'new' steering wheel for my Disco I from AJG Spares at Acacia Ridge. Only cost $90, factory leather bound complete with an air bag!.
He currently has a Disco II that he is wrecking. Should still have the steering wheel.

    Hi Dave
    Keep searching the auto shops.
The big shops are no good,I eventually found an old style leather lace up one, fits perfect in a country auto parts. Also look for similar in leather craft co-op shops(markets, tourist shops) you may find a nice home crafted one.

Looking at this on my D2 as well, i was thinking about getting the wheel retrimmed in leather, had a local guy do my peter brock signature wheel from my Calais, he did a good job, but not sure if he would do the LR one because of the airbag.

You just take the airbag out and get the rim retrimmed.
