Thread: What would have you done?

I hate it when people do that, The last few months i have had so many people cut me off. It is even worse when they cut in front of you then jam on the brakes when they realize they are just about to run into the stopped traffic in front of you. Not a very smart thing to do in front of a drum brake equipped Series Landy, with a big bugger of a bull bar. The worst thing about it is that i didn't have the air horn hooked up at the time, so they just drive off without even knowing what they have done

Defender drivers are not rude, as a rule, just electrically and rearward-visually challenged.

I must admit, I am guilty of doing this once before, due to the cr@p visibility out of the landy, particularly when merging left. I must get some bigger mirrors. It is like trying to change lanes with a dentists mirror

I had a 130 carry out a similar manuvoe to myself on the way home this afternoon. I just slowed down and gave him room, so I lost a second getting to the next traffic light. After all he's human just like me and I make mistakes too in the Rangie.

Probably an ex nisota driver and couldnt find the indicator stalk on the left hand side.

The frozen finger coments sound like possabilities though as do the electrical faults.

My favourate was a Bus driver in Dande that decided to chelange me to a lane that I got caught in because of road works and ended up hitting our course ute doing no damage to the ute but ripped a big hole in the fibre glass front of the bus.

I pulled over to do the exchange of info and he wouldnt pull over, but since he was stuck in traffic, I just walked up to his window and he closed it so I took the number off the bus and rang his boss.

They rang back about a week later and spoke to my boss and were very appologetic and wanted to make sure there was no damage and I was ok as they thought from the damage to the bus it was worse than it was but the worst damage was paint on the bus got on the tray of the ute.

My pet hate is people driving along with their foot resting on the brake pedal, not only does it wear their brakes down fast but also heats them up so they are not as efficient and also the brake lights are on all the time so they may as well not have them on at all grrrrrrrrrr.

A lot of people around here do that as well as 50 to 60 km/h in the right lane in an 80 zone and then 5 or 6 kms up the road they change into the left and turn left Grrrrrrrr.

In a 130, he probably couldnt see the back as it was over the horizon lol.

Theres a cheeky fender driver round my way, one night he tried to keep up with the D3.........and he did rather well, until I really put the boot in

no he probably indicated in the cab and the signal was still travelling thrus the deadly Lucas wiring to the indicator bulb when he moved in front of you

It's a pet hate here too, even worse, when they come out of a side street, and almost deliberately don't speed up, so you've got to jack on the brakes. But you wouldn't expect that from a Landy driver, even if a few Defender drivers tend to be somewhat short in the top paddock!.
