My disco had a TJM alloy winch bar fitted when I bought it. I have since fitted a cradle and my old lowmount winch.

Personally I would not have another alloy bar.

I know im going to get cained for this but after the cradle broke (scared the crap out of me when the weld broke it sounded like a shotgun going off), I have been running the winch in my bar with no cradle and the bar is holding up fine.

I know it will most likely distort the bar but so far it hasnt distorted any more than when the cradle broke in the first place.

I will make a new cradle when I get around to it but until then I am just a little carfull about what and where I winch.

I still want to find a steel bar, I just dont like alloy bars but this one seems strong enough.
