    Got My D2 Back

Well got my car back from the smash repairs. For the ones that were away two weeks ago a elderly lady smashed into the side of me, in a round-about.

All seems well just went for a blast on the freeway and at $1.20 plus everything feels nice and tight and I can take my hands off the wheel and she still tracks straight at that speed. Did some tight corner work and all feels normal also. Got to be happy with that.

Now just to watch out for little old ladies on round-abouts.

How many people do you reckon actually know the rules of roundabouts, how many give way to their right when there is NO such rule, it's so simple 1. Slow down when approaching a roundabout, 2. GIVE Way to any vehicle in or entering a roundabout, thats it, I Dread driving through one, glad your Disco is OK, Regards Frank.

Yep, to make it worse I was stationary in the round-about, it was one of those small ones and the traffic banked up and I had to stop. I could see this car coming and thought its not going to stop and next second bang straight into my passenger front door. I got out of the car only to find it was an 82 year old woman. She said I'm so sorry dear I did not see you. Worset thing was if I tried to move I would have hit the car in front or the car next to me.

I am 60 years old and I strongly believe that once you hit the big 60 you should have to have an eye test every 12 months to keep your license, my old man was driving up till 75 and he was declared legally blind, how he didn't kill someone was beyond me, Regards Frank.

Glad to hear you got it back and it's all ok.

It sounds so familiar to what happened to me. 5 months after I bought the Disco. This old Lady ran into me on a roundabout and caused 8 1/2 grands damage. She claimed she didn't see me because she had just come from her lawyers and was too busy worrying about her last accident and the Insurance co wouldn't pay out.

to this day, I still am very wary of roundabouts.

My Nanna was driving until about 82 but she called anything past the local shops a long trip and wouldn't dream of going further (local shops is about 5 blocks away I think). Qld Transport kept giving it back to her but we took it off her and said her doctor asked us to or something like that.

She never had an accident as such but the car did have a lot of scrape marks on it.
