Re-inflated
Some of you may have read about my issues with the SLS on my D2.Well the financial controller took it over to Southern Cross L/R in Toowoomba, about a 2hour drive from home on Thursday, and after 4 hours in the workshop, they found the problem.
What a nasty surprise for us both.
She needed a new compressor, under passengers seat, lunch box under car.
Apparently there have been numerous problems with the SLS ranging from pin holes in air Bag, leaks from piping,Electronic issues but least of all Compressors.
The damage was minor, but for $1382 installed, its major to me.
There is no preventative measures that can be taken, its just a ****er.
So for those with SLS, if you hear a PHUT PHUT coming from under the car even with the ignition off and keys out, guess what, get the fantastic plastic out.
Best course of action as per L/R instructions.
- Make sure suspesion is tottally up
- Disconnect battery, making sure you have codes for Radio/CD
- Take out main fuse from under bonnet 30 amp
- Re connect battery
- and get hiking to a L/Rover service centre.
I tried talking and getting some info from BOR on the Nort Coast and ever since Dave,Glenn and Paul have left, the place has gone to pack. They were useless.
Top Marks to David at Southern Cross Land Rover.Parts were up overnight from Sydney and installed in 45 minutes today.
Pocket is lighter, but the service was A1
