    Cdl

Finally got to finish installing a CDL on my D2 today, had to set up the difflock switch, fill the transfer case and plug the new difflock switch onto the wiring loom.
As i hav'nt installed a mechanism yet to operate the CDL from the cab, i used a spanner to activate the CDL and hey presto, i have a new light on my dash
Even though LR did'nt instal the cdl in my TC all the wiring is still there, with the dash light (nice and bright as it has never been on before), much to my relief
Now to the derawing board to design my new linkage.....

What, no bragging rights without pics?
Point taken, will take some pics of the linkage setup i come up with as well as the D1 front housing on my D2 TC.
Anybody else out there considering doing this mod?
I'm looking forward to taking the D2 out with the CDL engaged, have heard it increaeses the D2's ability considerably

as a normal D1=normal D2 ability? (is there such things?)

    then YES!!

D2 MUCH better in slow low traction situations

    is also,--
    quieter,
    more stable on highway,
    better (suspension)travel off road,

I have just done the D1 front housing part and have the console in the back at the moment, marking out the selector position.

Have decided to go with push pull cable located on the console just rear and to the right of the hi low selector. The cable is around $50 and have to make my own cable support at the box end. Just cant justify 100's on the selector.

The main reason I have done this is to get around the three amigoes. Sure I have fixed it at the moment,,, but she is not getting any younger and 2+ tonne one wheel drives are not much good off road. TIC

    Hey there Duff,
I'm also using a push pull cable, will make a start on fabricating a lever, similar to the Hi/Low lever, tomorrow. Will be installing it in the same position you described.
Could you post some pictures/descriptions of your install? Good luck

Sorry about the photo's,, you have to scroll across the page....? I have used a HiLex cable, $100. bulkhead mounted to the plate under the console and clamped to a stand off plate at the box end. It was a very easy install. The operation of the cable is very lite. I want to change the chrome knob with a black one eventually
