Will any/all these aftermarket gauges wire straight up to a TD5, or will I need brand specific sender unit to suit?

    Thanks,
    Tod.

Fuel gauge won't work with the stock LR sender - you'll need to put a new sender unit down through the top of the tank t make it work.
Temp gauge needs a matching sender, easy swap with the stock LR one.
Rev counter will plug directly into the back of the alternator if I'm not mistaken.

    Thanks Mike_ie,

Funny how I always realise the specifics I leave out only after I get a response to my posts.
Temp gauge is the one I'm changing out. A new sender it is.

Pick a style and meter movement that you can read at a glance... Best if there is a bit of distance between the marks around the 'normal'. - easier for you to pick up a change of position.

At any given point in time, somewhere in the world someone is working on a Land-Rover.

In my home made centre piece i have 2x volt meters[2 batteries],oil temp, oil pressure, water temp, boost and tacho all vdo and sourced off the net mostly from ebay.us, also digital egt from auber, the vdo gauges are made all over the world from indonesia to germany but i believe to a high standard, extra gauges can cause extra worry but is cheaper than a rebuild. On a side note my oil temp[sender in sump plug] runs at 180 but when the oil hits 5000ks it runs at 220-did this with old engine and does it with new, old was on magnatec and new is penrite 15./50, i always change the oil/filter at approx 5000 anyway... 300tdi

My searching skills are letting me down this evening... Can someone tell me the thread size/type for the water temp sender on a 300TDI so I know which replacement sender to get? Cheers.

If you're using a replacement VDO temperature gauge, you'll need to use the 323-095 temperature sender - 1/8-27 NPT...
