    Maxidrive Axles for Defender pricing?

Had the blue beast in for it's 40k service today, and was presented with worn rear axles. Was quoted from the dealer $1700 to fit maxidrive axles. As of now opted for standard axle replacments, as they are a warranty replacment, so cost nothing more than the service costs. What do the Maxidrive axles cost? This is something I wish to upgrade to in the future, but am off on holidays in a week, and can't afford them just yet.

    Cheers,

    Ken

For that price you can buy a locker plus axles. Fitting would cost a bit more though. They are trying to rip you off.

    That BS.

Even @ $650, it is only .5 to 1 hr max in labour to change them.

    That is just blind robbery.

See this is something that sh!ts me. I hope you front them about the quote and ask specifically what they were proposing to install and what the cost breakdown is. I'd be tempted to call Fred Smith and ask him while you're standing there in front of them!

Graeme Cooper does the whole set or $1980 plus fitting, these fellas are ripping you right off.

Ring british 4wd or some other Land Rover parts supplier and get a price on new standard axles and then front them

    HOW MUCH???????????

$1700 just for axles and flanges?

I get them delivered down here all the way from Mals, I remove the rear stubs and take out the seal, fit RTC3511 hub seals, refit hubs and wheel bearings etc, fit axles and flanges and let you drive out the door for around $880.

Where do they get that $1700 figure from????????
