    Good Microwave

Who makes a good microwave oven ?

After 23 years our microwave (National) gave up the ghost last night - we must have jinxed it by saying how long/well it had been going.

I'll bet the next one won't last 23 years though.

We had a National//Panasonic too for 15 years and we repalced it with the same brand.
We got the "Inverter" model because this is supposed to be more efficient in energy use.
Also got the "Genius" model with the sensor cook that detects the steam coming off the food and stops the cooking. This works quite well for raw veges etc but tends to overdo on re-heating.

Time to get a 12 Volt microwave from a caravan place, so you can mount it on a slide next to the Engel.

We have a Sharp Carousel convection microwave Exceller 60 with ESP, gotta be 15yrs old.

Check the main fuse inside, they go, it happened to ours and we thought it was stuffed too, we pulled it apart only to find it was the fuse, still going strong today

Just get a commercial Menumaster. They are bulletproof, start at 1000W and would nuke a buffalo!

Here is a link to their Australian price list...

    45 mins?

I wonder what gave out - the can would have shielded the gas, microwaves would have been nuking nothing. I'd go a ciggie lighter or something in a plastic case. Or better yet, sitting on a plate with gold edging, just to make some sparks!

Heh Heh Heh, I will have to try that one day. But just to add that final twist, you have to put it in the back of a TOYOTA
