    Sceptical bout an ebay offer

woule another opinion bout an ebay 2nd chance offer i was made, bit sceptical bout whether to trust this bloke or not

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....:B:WNARL:AU:12

i was made the 2nd chance offer after the auction end, says he has a 2nd item, nothing unusual there. but now has relisted the original item saying original buyer cannot pay.... less than 24 hours after auction end. this causes me a little concern. i have not commited to anything yet

at this stage swaying towards not trusting him..... whaddaya think?

I just had a look at some of the stuff he has listed,

Give it a shot, cheap enough for a locker.

    Hmmm...

I looked at the sellers feedback, etc. This could be a genuine seller, I'm making no judgement on that, but here are my comments:

    1) He/She has been an ebay member for 8 days.
    2) Has gained a feedback rating of 5, within that time made up of 4 purchases and 1 sale.
    3) Of the 4 purchases, 3 were for $0.99, and 1 was for $9.50 - this could be seen to be a cheap way of getting a quick 'positive feedback' rating.
    4) The seller has had one previous sale, but it was a 'private' sale so you can't see what it is or what it sold for.
    5) The seller currently has lot's of high value items for sale, including three PS3 consoles!
    6) In his/her 8 days as an Ebay member they've already retracted 1 bid. I've been an Ebay member for 6 years and never retracted a bid!

If your keen, ask the seller for a photo of the items with a copy of today's paper in the shot. Any decent ebayer would do this for an expensive item such as this.

The one (and only) thing that makes this ebayer look genuine is all the car items seem to be photo'd against the same concrete floor type background. Often the scammers pull photo's from the web, so they are either press shots or other peoples shots, so there would be no consistency in the background.

    Hope this helps a bit,

    Jon

As the old saying goes "If it sounds to good to be true" It generally is. Myself personally have received bogus second round offers. You can forward the offer to the Customer Care Team and they will check it out for you.

I wouldn't do bank deposit for that amount of money

Why not ask a WA member to do COD if you end up winning?

    All of the above.
He claims to have receipts available for their original purchase. I'd be inclined to take him up on the offer b4 making any move.

    let's link these two conversations

    *EDIT*
    I NEED TO CLARIFY PEOPLE;
Frank is in no way affiliated with this item, he has posted a link out of the goodness of his heart for our benefit of all members.
However there is a concurrent thread discussing this item which people may wish to read and decide for themselves.
I am sorry for any confusion or any alluded slur which may have been caused by me.

Ebay is, always has and always will be 'buyer beware'.
