I don't think so. My parents own a Pajero, about a 1997ish model, and they did about 11,000kms around NSW, Vic, SA, NT and Qld and had no problems at all. I've seen some very capable trucks with some absolute no-hopers behind the wheel and they tend to be the ones gettnig recovered :wasntme:

i'll get on the paj band wagon i had a 86 swb it was a grreat 4wd took it all up north wa did a alot of beach driving and it was great. I admit can' t touch my Rangie in the flex department by good little truck it was.

My first 4be was a '87 paj. Every trip I went on was a "Pajero Hill" so called because Pajeros couldn't get up them. I always did.
Side issue, I just saw Martha Davis from the Motels singing Total Control on "The Side Show" Good but you'd never recognise her!
Back on subject, The Paj was a great vehicle to learn on. I found that the tojo & patrol drivers didn't really need to know how to drive, the vehicle did it for them. In a paj you learn about keeping wheels relatively level etc. I'm a better driver beause of it. I didn't need recovery very often at all.
