    Bogged my grader today

I owe a carton, got the grader bogged today
Pulling up a drain and found a wetspot 3/4 the way up a hill.Being articulated and the blade as far extended as possible the front end got pulled in before I could hit the clutch.Tried articulating and crab walking out, normally works but not today.
Called up on the 2way for a loader, easy peasy straight out.
When the boys turned up to pull me out they were surprised to see no mess just a slightly stuck grader.I told them I would rather have got the carton fine than make a big mess and stuff my road!!!!
I got a roadtrain bogged on the road I graded yesterday.Clay hill, the clay crumbled into tennis ball sized clods, ended up ordinary despite cutting it across a third time.15mm of rain on it last nite made it nice and greasy.Had to go and cut the mess off the road,he was lucky he didnt tip it over, ended up in both drains!!!
I got to get a camera phone!!!!

see now if you didnt make a big mess with the grader you werent bogged you were just tractionally disadvantaged... Ive only ever seen one bogged grader and that was on the beach at windy harbour, it was engine deep in a known sink hole near the end of the boat ramp....

and YES you need a camera.

Doesnt help having a tow behind roller!!!!,If I unpinned it chances are it would have got away, plus to get out without a mess I needed to go backwards.
The roller has a short drawbar and a turntable so it dont like backing up,even using the artic to steer it!!!
