    Got me 2" lift kit.....But!

Now I just have to figure out what spring is for which end.... The shocks are a no brainer but not so sure about the coils... Anyone else have EFS gear?? & possibly remember which code is for Front or rear?????????

Sorry I haven't had anything to do with EFS.

Often, the rear springs have a greater spring rate (lbs per inch, or kg/m or N/m) than the fronts to accommodate extra loads. Also the free length of rear springs are often greater than the fronts.

Usually there is a difference between the left and right hand springs as well. The free length of the right spring should be a little longer, or a little stiffer, to counter the lean that occurs over time.

    For comparing spring rate:
    - smaller wire diameter for reduced rate
    - more coils (turns) for reduced rate

Without calculations it is difficult to compare rates if both the number of coils and the wire diameters are different - unless the spring with larger wire also has fewer coils. Though an experienced person may tell when viewing both springs side by side. The height may also give it away.

Hopefully someone will have the codes for you. If not post a pic of the springs side by side, showing clearly the difference in free height and number of coils. And measure the wire dia.

If all else fails, just take what you think are the heaviest and taller springs. Fit to one side at the rear (leave the shockie disconnected, in case you have picked the wrong spring), then see how the vehicle sits.

It should be be apparent, comparing to the other side if you have gained the lift you want (or a little more).

If less lift than you expected, then it was probably a front spring.

The rears will normally be longer when just sitting on the floor. EG Range Rover "green" rears give 2 inch lift to front, and are about an inch free length longer than the fronts.
The wire usually will be a greater diameter, fronts maybe 16MM, rears maybe 18MM.

So if you find 2 longer ones with thicker wire , BINGO.

The supplier should be contacted to find out which spring goes where, I bought a set of Lovells 2" lift coils and there was a Tag on each one for their position, contact the supplier, Regards Frank.

    Hi Twitchy
I have an EFS setup, happy with mine,a tad on the hard side.
The rear springs are different, there are more windings toward the top, look at your rears to see the difference.
Mine went just over 50mm settled to 40mm over stock.
They are made from thicker wire so your rear spring cusions wont fit,you are probably about rite in comparing the lenght of the spring to a stockie but the new ones will hold the vehicle much higher.
You will need to get hold of a spring compressor, there is no way you will get the new springs in without them. The olds will come out without the compressor using tyre levers, but its pretty risky business.
