yeh but much better than risking the whole breading season for the future melbourne cup winners

besides if the flu takes hold you can start saying good buy to some oldies and some youngens

my horse had equine influenzer in the uk same time strangles took hold he was running a temp like you wouldn't believe he got through it but god he was ill......wouldn't wish it on anyones horse

Hi rick130 and don’t take this the wrong way but if something like this had to happen, then the equestrian industry is the best to suffer.

Now as I posted, this is not meant to be a wish to see this happen anywhere or any industry in Australia but the Federal government has been ward repeatedly that something like this could happen as a our quarantine protection is now a joke.

The reason I posted that the equestrian industry is the best to have this happen to is because no other industry has the power clout and money to make the government act on tightening up quarantine laws and protection, than this specific industry has.

A little pain now in just one industry may very well be a good thing for the whole country in the long run.

    Cheers.

The Coolgardie Cup - first major race of the Kalgoorlie race round - was supposed to be tomorrow - has been cancelled.

This morning I noticed that there were a hell of a lot of horse floats with horses heading north out of Sydney. Travelling north along Pennant Hills road I was just about surrounded by them. I just assumed it was due to the wet and people deciding not to do their horse stuff.
    Cheers

Apparently its highly contageous and can be caught from humans who may have handled infected horses, u can understand how it can spread, this could be bigger then Ben Hur
